What makes Canadore's Journalism Program special?
- faculty with decades of experience in the radio, television and print fields
- the opportunity for one-on-one interaction with those faculty
- the chance to develop and hone skills in all areas of journalism
- access to a large television studio and state-of-the-art radio equipment with a focus on hands-on learning experiences
- a third year in which project-based performance drives the program
- the opportunity to develop a comprehensive portfolio of work during the third year, when the student has the opportunity to specialize
- a third-year work placement in which students gain valuable experience and put into action the skills they have learned in the program
Graduates can pursue employment in newspapers, magazines and writing for the internet as well as becoming broadcast journalists working in television and radio. Graduates are also prepared to work as freelancers in all these fields. Students will also have a chance to join the ranks of distinguished alumni as well as being part of an innovative program which will be central as Canadore College moves to establish a new Centre For the Visual and Performing Arts.
The Canadore College Communications faculty have wide-ranging backgrounds in both Print and Broadcast Journalism. They welcome your comments and questions.
